As a Golang developer, you’ll participate in the design and development of tools, frameworks, sample applications, example code, documentation, guided tours, videos, and tutorials to ease the use of Couchbase by developers and customers and guide the team in the activities mentioned above. You will play a key role in enhancing the developer experience. You will join a team that is the voice of Couchbase within the developer communities and an advocate for the developers. You'll drive both software development and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Help to develop a new fully managed service in Couchbase Capella
    • Collaborate with Couchbase users in the developer community and the open-source ecosystem of developer-oriented tools, frameworks, and applications
    • Help to Integrate Couchbase Capella with third-party services
    • Help to maintain the applications running in production by the DA Team
    • Identify trending technologies that could benefit the Couchbase Ecosystem

Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
    • 2-4 years of programming experience with at least one year working with Golang
    • Must be comfortable with AWSGood understanding of microservices and distributed architectures
    • Solid database experience
    • Basic understanding of Docker, docker-compose, and container technology concepts
    • The ability to work autonomously
    • Experience with automated build and test frameworks
    • Basic understanding of Linux system administration and networking concepts
    • You are fun to be around, easy-going, optimistic, and can handle bad puns

Preferred Qualifications:

    • You are a community enthusiast and have made contributions to open-source projects
    • Experience with NoSQL Databases (Couchbase, MongoDB, Neo4J, Cassandra, DynamoDb, Redis, and/or Memcached, etc )
    • Coding experience with other languages such as Java, .Net, Node, Ruby, Golang, Rust, or PHP is highly desired
    • Experience with open-source frameworks is a plus, especially maintaining or contributing to open-source projects!
    • Experience with high-load applications
